Sneha Hastham is a support and service oriented volunteer-powered organization that provides support to the most vulnerable within this city's diverse communities. The neglected elderly, survivors of domestic abuse, families in crisis, and the indigent, are the beneficiaries of the visionary framework that was started in 2008 shaped by one incident that determined its trajectory. Sneha Hastam has since morphed from its origins into a force to be reckoned with, and all thanks to its bighearted and humble founder, Varalakshmi Devi Sirigiri.
"God has given me a good life. I'm so grateful for that, and going forward, I don't want to waste a moment if I can reach out a hand to help people," said Devi. "Everyone is family, no one should feel isolated. We all need a helping hand."

The mother of two, with the support of her husband Chandu, is fulfilling her goal. She has registered Sneha Hastam as a non-profit organization. Her network of fellow supporters has grown exponentially to include family counselors, lawyers, doctors, and other professionals who offer their services free of cost.

Her core group remains true to the mission; over the years, they have adopted the homeless, provided food, groceries, and clothes to the financially unstable , and rendered physical and mental aid to those in need. As knowledge of this grassroots organization has spread through WhatsApp and word of mouth, the community has rallied around with donations in cash and kind. The foundation has no overheads or administrative costs, so 100% of the funds go directly to Sneha Hastam's clientele.
